Cousins!

July 13th, 2014

We had the pleasure of taking Riley and Lucy for the weekend so their parent's could celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.  It's crazy to think their wedding was 10 years ago.  It was the first "family event" I went to on Chris' side.  I have some great memories of the weekend and I'm happy to be able to be involved in helping them to celebrate this occasion!

No surprise, Christian and Lindalee were SO excited for their visit.  Christian, who never naps, {after a threat he couldn't stay up late with his big cousins} fell asleep after a couple minutes of being in bed.  {I may need to use this threat more often}.  Upon waking up, the kiddos were thrilled to be greeted by their big cousins.

Riley and Lucy made a rainbow for Lindalee and a clown for Christian, it was a hit.

True cousin love.  Riley and Lucy reading to Lindalee while she works on her potty business.

We ventured over to the neighbors pool for some fun in the water.

I think everyone had fun.

Whee!

The kiddos enjoying dinner and a movie.  Dinner included pizza, fish sticks, macarooni and cheese, and pasta with butter.  They kept their waitress busy!

Thankful for a weekend of cousins!

My Little Smarty Pants

July 8th, 2014

I'm going to be bragging about my two amazing little children.  I'm sorry, I just can't help it.  If you don't want to hear it, just stop now...

Lindalee has gotten into painting and takes it very seriously.
The kiddos have taken over my new desk.  It's been really sweet to watch Christian explain his lessons to Lindalee.  He's a great little teacher {most of the time}.

I have been keeping Chris VERY busy with projects around the house.  He successfully converted our laundry room into a beautiful little girls room for Lindalee.  She is so excited.

I bought some plants and left them scattered on the porch.  I walked out to Lindalee neatly organizing them on the bench.

I was reading Christian his Lego catalog {it's one of his favorite "books"} and said, "The Lego Movie".  He said, "No Mommy, it says The Lego Mov".  Busted!  He's a better reader than I give him credit for.

We went to Target to buy Christian some new shoes.  I turned around for thirty seconds and Lindalee had filled up the cart.  She's quite the shopper.  Daddy's in BIG trouble!

We enjoyed an ice cream treat with some new buddies.  Our love for Richardson's Ice Cream grows every time we go.

Lindalee ate her ice cream, and finished Christian's.  She may look like her Daddy, but she got her love of ice cream from her Mommy!

Buddies.

Thankful for two, sweet, smart, and healthy kiddos.

On The Green

July 10th, 2014

We had a fun Mom's Club playgroup on "The Green".  Christian quickly found his buddy and was completely occupied playing "People Smashers" {your guess is as good as mine} the entire time.

I tried to take a picture of Christian with his pinwheel loot and his buddy jumped right in, it was adorable.

Lindalee felt a little left out, so they let her in for another picture.  She tried to get in the middle and Christian pulled her away from his friend and over to his side.  I'm liking his protective instinct.

Christian and I enjoyed a special afternoon while Lindalee took an extra long nap.  We had a "date" on the hammock and even though we were just laying there talking, he kept saying, "Mommy, I'm having so much fun.  I love you SO much!".  He also said, "Mommy, you and I have more fun on dates than Uncle James and Auntie Pha do."  Uncle James, you better step up your game!

And of course, we had to have some bike time.

Lindalee wanted me to ride her bike and wear her helmet.  Christian captured it in a picture to show Daddy how silly we are.

Thankful for a beautiful day outside and my very special "date" with my favorite little man.

Exploring the North Shore

July 8th, 2014

The temperature is on the rise, no better time to explore the North Shore!  It was completely overwhelming deciding on where our first beach adventure would be, there are so many great spots, so close to us.  We ended up at Good Harbor Beach, and it was awesome.  I'm sure we will be returning again, soon.  We spent the morning exploring the creek leading into the beach.  It was low tide, so we were able to walk to some "islands", look for buried treasure, and all that fun stuff.  We also spent a lot of time in the water.  Christian could spend all day long entertaining himself in the waves.  He likes to "fight them".  He "karate chopped" every wave and had quite the conversation with all the "bad guys" in the water.

Christian doing his "happy dance".

"Hip hip hooray!" for the beach!

Really, does it get any better than this?!

As with all New England beaches, the water was a bit on the chilly side.  It didn't stop the kiddos.

Despite Mr. Christian giving an award winning meltdown when it was time to leave, we had one amazing day exploring the north shore!  Really, an amazing day.  I am one blessed Mommy.

Trapping

If only trapping a fox were as easy as trapping these two little critters!

Happy Independence Day!

July 5th, 2014

Despite the weather not cooperating for the fireworks, we had a great 4th of July mini vacation!

We enjoyed our yearly reunion with my best friends from back in the day.  Three Momma's, seven kids, my how times have changed!

Keeping with tradition, mine are not clothed.  Crazy Baker family!

Christian and I enjoyed a fun filled kayak safari adventure!

Mornings at the lake cannot be beat!

Hanging out at camp

The rain couldn't keep us from having a good time.

Christian and Lindalee playing games in the rain.

Warming up and enjoying a little show.

We ventured out on our first family kayaking trip.  We stayed out for an hour and I think the kids could have longer.  I have never seen them so well behaved.  Maybe we should kayak more often?

Sleepy kiddos!

Cuddles with Meme!

My little fishy, Christian.

Lindalee's boyfriend, Declan, paid her a visit.  CJ wasn't very happy when they started holding hands.

Young love!

Two sillies!

Of course, Saturday ended up being absolutely gorgeous, but we needed to head home to unpack and organize some more.  Tear, tear.

Thanks Meme, Papa, Grammie and Grampie for some great 4th of July memories!  Can't wait for next year!
