Two mornings of appointments for a four and two year old, I'm tired just from writing that. Both Christian and Lindalee were so good, I really can't complain. We spent 2.5 hours at our new doctor's office getting a checkup, blood work, and shots. I think it took more of a toll on me then it did them. Thankfully, both kids kept the morning quite comical. Here we go...
We got called back to the examination room. The children had to give a urine sample {that was a first!} so when we got back to the room, I let Lindalee keep her underwear off since she was wearing a dress, I knew we would have to take it off again. One minute later, I hear Christian scream, "Lindalee pooped on the floor!" Before I could take control of the situation, he ran out to the nurses station and exclaimed, "My baby sister pooped all over your floor! It's disgusting!". I quickly cleaned it up and tried to act cool. Christian continued running in and out of the room and would tell anybody that would listen, "Sometimes my baby sister is annoying."
Next, the doctor finally arrived. I put on my best parenting face since it was the first time meeting her. At that point, we had already been at the office for 1.5 hours, so the children were getting antsy. The doctor was asking me some questions when Lindalee took the play teapot, "poured" me a drink, and forced it in my mouth yelling, "Mommy drink beer! Mommy drink BEER!". I was mortified! I tried to pretend nothing was happening and went ahead and "drank it" to appease her ridiculous request. God knows what the doctor thinks of me. Maybe I should have corrected Lindalee, "Honey, Mommy prefers a nice glass of Cabernet."
Next were the shots. I was dreading the two of them getting shots at the same time. I figured one would cry and it would scare the other one and start a frenzy. Nope. Christian took the shot and finger prick like a champ, only a little "ouch!". Then Lindalee screamed, "Me finger-prick! Me finger-prick!". What two year old asks for a shot? She didn't even make a sound when they pricked her. She is so tough. That concluded our appointment. We headed to check out and Christian was singing and dancing around the room, "I love medicine shots, oh yeah!". We really are a bunch of crazies!
Next up, the dentist! Christian has been once in Charlotte and did wonderful, so I was not concerned about him at all. Lindalee, could go either way. I figured if she saw her big brother go first, she would be fine. When it was her turn, she leaped for the chair, only to leap right back in my arms. She refused to sit in the chair and after some manipulation, she sat in the chair momentarily for the dentist to count her teeth. Maybe next time!
I love how these two little nuts can make boring, everyday activities entertaining. These days staying home with them leave me exhausted, but these memories are all worth it. I am so thankful for two, healthy and hilarious children!

Lindalee was very excited about the dentist before we left home. She picked out her special jewelry to wear and did a lot of practicing showing off her teeth.
Brave big brother, ready to go!
My big boy!
A not-so-happy Lindalee
