A visit with Santa and Christmastime fun

December 1st, 2013

Gabiya is back!

This morning, we walked out into our living area and I will never forget the look on the kids faces.  Christian's eyes were glistening, innocently filled with magic.  Lindalee was a bit unsure, but still excited.  Gabiya {our little Elf that Christian named} came to our apartment last night, decorated our Christmas tree & windows, placed all the kids Christmas books under the tree, and left them advent calendars to count down the days until Christmas.  Christian's advent calendar was no regular advent calendar.  Earlier this year {world's best} Daddy purchased a Lego StarWars minifigurine advent calendar {which sells out way before Christmas, Daddy knew what he was doing}.  When Christian opened it, he put on a gigantic smile and said "This is all I ever wanted for Christmas!".

We got all dressed up and walked over to the Galleria to see Santa.  On our way there, I asked Christian what he was going to tell Santa he wanted for Christmas.  Again, he said "the Lego StarWars advent calendar is all he ever wanted".  He was excited to see Santa just so he could tell him what Gabiya had brought for him.  He told Santa he didn't want anything else.  Seriously?!  When Santa asked Lindalee what she wanted for Christmas, she said, "Baby!".

Our lobby's Christmas tree, so pretty!

Snow Princess Lindalee

I was bracing for the worst this year.  Christian isn't scared of anything {or so he says}, but Lindalee is scared of EVERYTHING!  Christian has been prepping her for the big event and handled it like a pro.  Here is the progression:

Christian went first to show Lindalee there was nothing to be afraid of.

She didn't agree, at first.

Christian reassured her, "Lindalee do no cry.  Santa is nice.  There is nothing to be afraid of".  Her screams of terror turned into a pout {they cutest pout I have ever seen}.

Santa read them a little story and....

Tada!!

Really, I was hoping to purchase a pouting or screaming picture {I am terrible}.  The photographer failed to capture the moment, but Chris did a pretty good job.

Enough excitement for one day?  No!  After rest time, we had our new friends/neighbors over for a little holiday fun.  The kids enjoyed constructing gingerbread houses.  Actually, they enjoyed eating the candy, they probably could have cared less about the final product. As many of you know, sugar and Baker children don't mix.  I probably should have served a veggie platter for our first family play date.  I hope Christian and Lindalee didn't scare them away with their post-sugar insanity.  All in all, it was a really fun evening, we are looking forward to more of them in the future!

That's his sugar crazed smile, he's not crying, as it appears.

Proud gingerbread house creators!

Lindalee was so excited to be cuddling with everyone.  I think she's just happy to have some buddies, girls to boot!

What!?  Lindalee loves her crib, she won't even sleep with me when she's sick.  Tonight, she insisted on going to sleep on the floor.  And she did.  Sugar induced coma.

Thankful for a day full of holiday magic!
