Happy Birthday to Chris!

December 8th, 2013

Happy, happy birthday to my handsome, smart, and all around awesome husband!  We had a wonderful weekend filled with celebration!
It started on Friday night, sleep {thank you Meme and Papa}.  Early to bed, late to rise, no 2:00 am, 4:00 am, and/or 5:30 am interruption!  When we got up Saturday morning, we felt quite refreshed.  I, personally, felt the best I've felt in close to five years.  Bring it on!
Auntie Pha and Uncle James came down to spend the day and night with us.  We had a fun day and a great night.  Chris' boss gave us tickets to a charity event, it was a great event and gave us a good excuse to go all out for Chris' big day.

Popping the champagne

Every birthday boy {and his BIL} needs an 'on the go mullet', right?

Dressed up with no children.  This hasn't happened in quite some time.

The ladies

As Auntie Pha said, "The original Grants, plus two"

Front row for the Blue Man Group appearance.  Crazy boys!

I felt bad watching the show without Christian.  After seeing the Blue Man Group at the Christmas Tree Lighting, he is infatuated with them {and the "radioactive ooze that spits out of their heart"}.

Studs.

The night didn't end here, but that story is for another day....

On Sunday, Meme and Papa brought the kiddos back home so we could all have a little birthday celebration.  Christian and Lindalee had made daddy a special birthday treat: gooey brownies with peppermint patties, M&M's, and chocolate chips inside.  Wow.  They did well!  They were both very excited to move through lunch quickly to get to the good part.

The proud Mr. Baker, himself.

Daddy got a little help blowing out the candle.

The kids were very excited to give Daddy his card.  Christian thought it was "hilarious".
The envelope was covered in some pretty amazing artwork.  It included a beautiful silhouette of an "anteater" and the word "DAD" which Christian drew/wrote {minus the 'A', that's a bit tricky}.

Happy birthday, Chris.  We love you more than cake and lollipops.  We are so thankful for all that you do for us!  xo
