The children were extremely excited about Lucy and Riley's birthdays. They were even more excited about our plans to have a "birthday party" with them. We met up at Kings Bowling in Dedham. Chris and I loved the place and Christian was in little boy heaven. He asked who's birthday is next {Meme's} and he's already planned a birthday party there for her.
Lucy LOVES her baby cousin!
Little bowler
Christian, Lucy, and Riley took the game very seriously. Lindalee, not so much.
Nice form!
Cousin love!
Lucy the babysitter.
Chris and the kids dropped me off in the city to meet up with Laura for a yoga class. I really enjoyed the class and am hoping I can find a way to make it happen on a more regular basis. Afterwards I felt so incredibly refreshed! Strolling around the city with a friend {not pushing a stroller}- it didn't matter that we walked home in a thunderstorm. It was a wonderful afternoon!
When I got home, Chris headed out to visit a Finnish sauna about 45 minutes outside the city. Chris' description of his experience was "authentic"- he had a great time. It was 220 degrees in the sauna, after sitting for as long as they could stand it, they ran outside to the lake where you chop a hole in the ice with an ax, and go for a quick dip. I prefer a yoga class, to each his own!
While the boys played, the mommy's and children enjoyed a little fun of their own. Both Christian {for the first time in almost a month} and Lindalee took a really good nap. As a reward, they got a movie night with ice cream cones. Best of all, they got to share the treat with their buddies.
I enjoyed watching Lana and Christian work out their differences. Christian wanted to play superhero and Lana wanted to play princess. They did a great job entertaining themselves playing superhero saves the princess.
These kiddos know how to have a good time!
After the Maybaum girls headed home and I put Lindalee to bed, I poured myself some wine and got an interesting lecture from Christian. Where did this little boy come from?
Christian: Mommy, is that wine?
Me: Yes.
Christian: Mommy, it's not healthy to drink wine by yourself.
Me: It's okay for grownups to have a little.
Christian: Well, then, it's okay for kids to have just a little bit too
Thankful for an extraordinarily fun day full of family and friends!
