Finally, a beautiful day! I have been longing for a day outside and the past couple weeks haven't cooperatated with my desire. Thankfully, today was beautiful. Just beautiful! We had hoped to take the kiddos skiing, but because of the amount of rain we got yesterday, the conditions were sub-par. Instead we headed to the Boston Common for a morning of skating and playing.
It was Christian's first time on the ice {special thanks to Betty and JoJo for the skates and helmet} and he had a blast. He kept insisting that I let go so he could do it by himself. He didn't win that battle today. After just two laps around the rink, my body hurt all over. Holding onto Christian and making sure that neither of us fell was quite the workout. He could have kept going and going and going.
Poor Lindalee was very sad every time she saw Mommy go by. She was happy to get a picture taken on the ice. It looks like she's crying, but she's actually saying, "Cheese!!!".
Lindalee was happy to have daddy take her to the playground to taker her mind off from skating.
She went down the big slides over and over. Fearless little thing!
Christian and his little love.
Due to defiance {Christian} and toileting schedule {Lindalee}, neither children napped. After the busy morning we had, you would think that at least we would get one down. Nope. When all else fails, go to the MoS! Unfortunatly, on our walk there, Daddy got a battle wound {twisted his ankle while playing a game with Christian} so he wasn't able to join us. Christian was very concerned about Daddy. "Mommy, I am so sad that Daddy is sad. I think my knee is starting to hurt too!". Once we got to the MoS, he forgot about his sadness and we had a great time "exploring", as Christian says. "Mommy, there is just so much to explore!"
We ventured into the New England habitats. Sticking to the boy stereotype, he was only interested in smelling the {disgusting} smells of each animal in their habitat.
We ventured "inside the human body" and explored a section of the exhibit that we hadn't seen yet. Christian was really excited to test his walking technique and see what kind of arch he had.
They discovered that they are "white"
The snowflake princess took a little catnap on the walk home. Busy day!
Thankful for a beautiful Sunday. I think it's just what we all needed!
