Lindalee had a big day today! Not only did she she turn a year and a half, but she had her first "day" of school! She threw such a fit when she had to leave Christian's classroom last week, I figured she could try out their toddler program for a couple hours. She LOVED it!
Mommy Princess Lindalee and sleepy side kick, Superman.
Christian was VERY excited {and proud} to have Lindalee join him at school. He said he would look after her and protect her.
The short time Lindalee was there, I stayed close by so I could periodically peek in the windows to see how she was doing. It was completely adorable to see her interacting with her little friends. When I went to pick her up, the teacher said that she had a blast. She enjoyed "sharing" all the books with the other children, playing with the other girls {I imagine they don't karate chop her like her brother}, painting, the playground, and especially loved music class. She was excited to see me, but even more excited to tell me that she saw "brother!" on the playground.
A successful first "day" of school!
Empty seat.
Christian was adamant on staying at school to take a rest and eat cake. It was his friend's birthday today. I would have loved him to come home with us, but I am happy he wanted to stay. He's got some cute little friends and really seems to enjoy the program.
Lindalee and I went to pick him up after her nap. Despite him being up since 5:20 am and being in school all day {a first}, he did not take a nap there. It made me feel better about my parenting techniques. With him, I feel like a complete failure in the sleep department.
And on to our {half} birthday girl!
A year and a half? That sounds so old! This baby girl of ours if growing up way too fast. She is 18 months going on 31 years. She calls herself "Little Mommy" and insists on putting on her necklace and earrings {which she immediately peels off} every morning. Her two favorite things are taking Zoe on walks and pushing her stroller around the building with, a baby in tow. The more sparkly and pink something is, the more she loves it. Her only "real" girl toy is her stroller {I'm sure Santa will change that}. She has grown up with superheros, dragons, castles, and karate. It blows my mind how she had become such a "girly girl". Nature won this battle. I love it, it really does melt my heart. Christian will be wrestling with Daddy and "make him dead" and Lindalee will run over, hug him and smother him with kisses until he "comes back alive". I could go on and on about this girl all day. The sweetest and smartest little girl anyone could ever dream of.
"Cheese!"
Striking a pose in the elevator.
"Burr!"
A good mom would have wiped her mouth clean before this photo opp. Oops!
Big brother trying to steal the show.
SO thankful for the sweetest, smartest, girlyish little 18 month old any mom could ever wish for!
