Fabulous morning! Christian wasn't up at 5:00 am {anything after 6:00 is manageable} and Lindalee slept until 8:30. What!? A great way to start the day!
I asked Christian what he wanted to do and, without hesitation, he said, "Aquarium!". Let's put that membership to use, the aquarium it was! By the time Lindalee was up, we were ready to go. This time, I put on my running shoes and turned our trip into a nice little workout. It was a win-win situation for us all.
Christian has decided it's his job to pick out Lindalee's "earrings" every morning. He chose blue hearts, today.
Pink and blue- Daddy is too! Hard to believe we didn't plan any of this.
We got to the aquarium shortly after it opened. It was empty. The kids had a blast running around and exploring. Again, we spent a long time in the tide pool area, which we had to ourselves. The staff went into a lot of fun detail about all the creatures Christian was touching. Lindalee was very intrigued, but completely freaked out and refused to touch anything. We also went to the surface of the giant fish tank {which I had never done}. It was beautiful and fascinating. Christian begged me to let him jump in.
{Try not to be jealous of my amazing, sweaty hat hair} I love this picture of Christian. He is too much!
On our elevator ride up to our apartment, Lindalee pressed the emergency call button- for probably the 10th time this week. Christian takes his elevator rides VERY seriously, holding the door for everyone and pressing the buttons. He had had it with Lindalee, not only pressing buttons, but the wrong button. He screamed, "Lindalee, you are so bad! I am going to glue you up in a tree, forever!". She was unfazed, I was a little scared.
We had big plans for story time at the library after Lindalee's nap. Instead of her usual hour long nap, she was out for almost three hours. She's probably catching up on her sleep from our very busy month. I think everyone is beginning to settle into our new "routine". We missed story time, but had a nice long walk with Zoe and did some exploring around our building {it also gave me some nice one-on-one time with Mr. Christian}. We got home from our afternoon out and Christian said, "This is such a special day!". I agree.
Today, among other things, I am thankful for Excedrin migraine. I've had a really bad headache for the past three days {not easy to deal with when attempting to keep two little ones busy}. It's amazing how great life can be after recovering from feeling so terrible. I think were all were thankful to have mommy back to "normal".
