Sunday Funday!
We began the day with a little adventure into the lovely suburb of Wellesley, checking out a house that is on the market. Chris had a panic attack when he walked in. It was a beautiful old home, but needed a lot of work. We have some serious home projects under our belt, but, I don't think he's ready to tackle something on such a large scale. Either way, it was fun looking...
The afternoon was filled with family fun! Meme, Papa, Uncle James, and Auntie Pha all made the trip down to hang out at our new place and celebrate Antie Pha's birthday. The kids were smothered with attention the whole night. They were in heaven.
Some Halloween gifts from Meme and Papa
We enjoyed dinner and brews at the Cambridge Brewing Company, a short walk from our apartment
And back home for the celebration!
Lots of juicy and boogery kisses for Auntie Pha
Bedtime cuddles. The kids were tired from such a busy and exciting afternoon!
It was such a nice afternoon and evening, for many reasons.
First, my parents came with a back seat packed with food that Meme had spent all weekend preparing. Homemade bread, pie, English muffins, cupcakes, chicken soup, beef stew, egg salad, vegetables, individual goodie buckets for the kids, I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple things. We are going to get fat and spoiled living here. Fine with me!
Secondly, and more importantly, it was so wonderful to be surrounded by family. It's just starting to hit me {and the kids} that we can have SOME of the people we love the most visit us all the time. Christian, again, was a little confused why everyone only stayed for a "little while". I know he prefers the longer visits that we are used to, but I think, overtime, he will come to appreciate the shorter, more frequent visits. I'm sure when Grandma and Grandad come to visit, Christian will enjoy that they stay for more than a "little while". He'll probably give Meme and Papa a hard time for not staying as long as Grandma and Grandad.
One thing I really missed, living away from all of our family, was celebrating things together. It made me so happy for us to be able to celebrate Auntie Pha's birthday, as a family.
Thankful for celebrations. Happy birthday Auntie Pha!
