Lindalee's 2nd Birthday: Round 2

May 25th, 2014

With the chaos of moving, we couldn't let Lindalee's birthday pass without some REAL celebration!  I was hesitant on doing something so quickly after moving.  One week post move, things are still either in boxes or messy piles.  I couldn't plan much, but the children could care less.  Friends and family at our house, cake, and presents...  That's all they need to call it a party.

The birthday girl, ready to party!

Papa enjoyed some cuddles from the birthday girl

Auntie Pha surprised us all with a spectacular cake, Lindalee was thrilled.  Mommy was too!

Lindalee was happy that it was Great Grampie's birthday too!  So much to celebrate!

Three generations of ladies

Lindalee enjoying Great Grammie's deviled eggs.  I think she ate most of them.

Meme's spectacular pies and Auntie Pha's amazing cake.  I'm surrounded by a bunch of overachievers!

Little fairies picking flowers

Taking a dip in the pool

I love Lindalee's outfit.  It's her birthday, she can do what she wants to.

Lindalee snuck away for some story time with Auntie Pha.

Tickled pink!

Happy Birthday Lindalee!

I love how Christian has his arm hanging over Lana's neck.  No big deal.

Big brother, Christian, helped open her gifts.

Lindalee loves Uncle James and Auntie Pha!

Grant/Baker family picture.  This makes me so happy!

Lindalee, enjoying some party favors.

Christian insisted that we play pin the tail on the donkey.  He was very excited about it initially.

Then Lindalee, the first one to go, pinned the tail right on the donkey's bottom.

He was not happy about how well Lindalee did.

He settled down for his turn...

Then got upset again after he didn't get the tail as close as Lindalee did.  I don't think he will be requesting that game again.

Cuddles with Daddy!

Chris and James took it upon themselves to BUILD a fire pit and start a fire.  I can't give them a hard time because it was quite wonderful.

Campfire cuddles with Auntie Pha

I am beyond thankful for today.  It was so special to have family and friends at our home to celebrate.  It really did make me all warm and fuzzy inside.  We are so blessed!

Happy Saturday!

May 24th, 2014

Happy Saturday!  It's been a week since we have moved and we are slowly, but surely, getting more settled.  I have decided that I am not going to be too concerned with unpacking and organizing until the winter.  {BE FORWARNED if you visit}.  The weather is incredible right now and I want to enjoy every second outside with my two little monsters {see below}.

Good morning, Lindalee!  She took it upon herself to start the morning off as a monster.

My little monster drinking all our milk!

Next, she transformed into princess spiderman.

Slinging mommy with her web.

We are working on converting the storage area under the stairs into a play area with all of the kids books and toys.  They love it and I love having their things out of sight.  I was going upstairs and I heard, "Hiyah! Hiyah!"  I peeked in and saw Lindalee playing with one of her princess figurines and Christian's "bad guy" toy.  She was having the princess beat up the bad guy.  Oh, the life of a little girl with a big brother.  Too cute!

We spent the majority of the day outside cleaning up our yard.  It's a beautiful yard, but it's been neglected for a number of years.  Thankfully, both Chris and I enjoy working in the yard and both of the kiddos love being outside.  They spent the morning running around chasing and tormenting our chickens.  It was adorable to watch.  Sorry chicks!

Chasing the chicks

Christian is quite the chicken catcher.  I think he might just have his mom beat.

Both Christian and Lindalee enjoying lunch at the "big kid" table.  An awesome hand-me-down from big cousins, Riley and Lucy!

Daddy and his mean chainsaw chopping up a tree in our backyard.  Stud.

Christian had some snacks and watched Daddy cut up the tree. He periodically gave Chris a "thumbs up".

Lindalee was excited to "help" with the clean up.  Cutest little helper I've ever seen!

Thankful for being able to enjoy a gorgeous day at our new home!

Happy 2nd Birthday Lindalee!

May 21st, 2014

Two.  Two!  Two?  How is my baby girl two years old!?  Time has passed too quickly.  My baby is now a little girl.  It's terrible, but so wonderful, all at the same time.  She had changed from a {relative to her brother} easy baby to a maniac toddler.  She is completely out of control and it scares us to death thinking of what this could mean in her teenage years.  Despite her defiance, she is still the sweetest little girl we could ask for.

Oh, little Miss Lindalee.  She says "no" when she should say "yes", she runs the opposite direction when you ask her to come,  she refuses to hold hands when asked, if asked for a kiss, she will run away {then return a couple seconds later to kiss}, and in most situations, she likes to demonstrate her fierce independence.  What makes it even worse is that she is difficult, no, impossible to discipline.  She gives me the worlds sweetest smile when she knows she's done something wrong and says, "I sorry Mommy Bear". Yes, she calls me Mommy Bear.  She is a smart, smart girl at such a young age, another reason we could be in major trouble come 13.

Ring pop for breakfast?  It is her birthday.

My two year old!

Meme came down to spend the day with us.  Lindalee was very "happy".

Meme brought a coordinated PJ set for Lindalee and her doll.  It made for one excited little girl.

Muscle man and his pepperoni pizza

It was such a wonderful day.  It was especially nice to have Meme to celebrate with.

Daddy came home early to celebrate.  He couldn't miss out on cupcakes!  This is our first family picture at our new home.

Yummy!

Happy birthday, Lindalee!

Goodnight "roars"

I am so thankful for my precious baby girl.  She is everything I could have ever dreamed of, and more!
