It was a great afternoon at the lake. The air was warm and the water was, well, freezing! The ice is usually long gone by this time of year, but it seems to be lingering with all the cold weather we have had. We have bets placed on what day the ice will be out {Meme won}. This morning, one would have never guessed that today would be the day. There was still so much ice. The children and I spent the afternoon at camp and watched the ice melt and break apart. It was interesting to see it happen so quickly, I've never seen anything like it. Christian and Lindalee had a wonderful time playing in the ice chunks that floated ashore. Burr!
"Burr water!"
I'm not sure how the children managed to have their feet in the water for more than two seconds. They are tougher than their mommy, that's for sure!
I managed to sneak some cuddles from this handsome little man.
Once their little legs had gone numb, they moved their play to the sand.
Thankful for ice-out and watching it happen with my little ones! Let spring begin!
